Jo Metcalfe
Founder/ CEO
Initially starting training as a nurse at 19, Jo became ill, spent 2 years in hospital and eventually recovered when accessing Natural Medicine. She then trained as a Natural Health Practitioner & ran a full time holistic clinic for 25 years. During this time, she wrote 5 books and appeared on national TV & radio.
In 2011 she began volunteering in prisons with a new concept of holistic healthcare via horticulture. As the success of the project grew she founded Greener Growth in 2013. The Community Interest Company is centred around horticultural projects to conserve nature, grow food and reinforce different user group access to green spaces and wild places.
Greener Growth began delivery in prisons, then worked in schools and on community projects, and now has a commercial range of packages to help reinforce the sustainability of the model.
As Greener Growth has grown, Jo began working on the establishment of a sister organisation Seeding Hope. This CIC will be fully focused on the work within the prison partnerships, growing trees and delivering a therapeutic model alongside officially
recognised qualifications.
